For Chef Meg LaManna food is all about making connections.
Our family history
A veteran of high-end kitchens from New York to Miami, and cooking up and down the Jersey shore, Chef Meg LaManna has made a career out of cooking from the heart. In 2025 she competed on the food networks Chopped, winning the competition and the title of Chopped Champion.
In recent years she has pivoted from executive Chef & restaurant owner to private chef and founder of Mugsy’s Mercantile.
Through Meg LaManna Private Events, headquartered in Point Pleasant Beach, the Chef and her team have executed countless soirées from birthdays and anniversaries to weddings and graduations that illuminate culinary magic.
The Chef fills her days at Mugsy’s Mercantile in Point Pleasant Beach as well, which is intended for the grab and go crowd offering delicious and seasonally driven soups, salads, sandwiches, and snacks which can be enjoyed on their sidewalk tables.
